HOW TO NOT OBEY: A GUIDE☺

    They have born in an era of tyrants and dictators. Also, they have born in an era of brave and revolutionary people. They've been enslaved, they've been put in prisons, they've been murdered. Also, they've made revolutions, they've stood against the dictators, they've spoke their voices. 

    Peace and freedom was the impossible dream of the humanity for many years. The dictators would say, "Don't believe in such a lame thing called world peace." But sorry to say, I already do, they already do, we already do.

    I can say that I'm a huge dreamer. I dream of many things, sometimes little things, sometimes big things but sometimes huge things Maybe not today, maybe not when I'm alive but someday: There will a happy future without any inequality, without classes, without wars, without discrimination. Maybe I can't start a revolution with my words but at least I can make someone feel hopeful.

     In the current age, there's a huge propaganda of "nothing can be better". If you dare to say nothing could be better for us, you must accept that everything is already okay. If everything is worst there's somewhere better to go, someway better to make it happen. 

    Everyday brings another femicide. Queerphobia is rising more and more. The climate crisis is at its worst. The working class is being crushed more and more. You sell your soul to the big bosses of "pretty" capitalism. What a desperate way to live. What a desperate way to obey. They will tell you "We are human, we can't be good, it's against our nature. No more empathy than that, no more peace or joy than our fake laughter." That's the "nothing can be better, we can't be fixed" propaganda. I agree, nothing can be better for the dictators and tyrants. Because it's going to be better for us, the people.

    From the Paris Commune to the Russian Revolution, from the Cuban Revolution to the Gezi Resistance, and even to the 19th of March, people have risen up against their dictators throughout the history. The working class, women, queers, black people: they have all resisted for the dream of peace. Women, black people and even queer people has gained a lot rights compared to old dark days. And it's  a victory for the people of peace. No one gave women their rights as a reward of their obeisance. Women has stood up, fought and gained their rights. Even though there's still a lot to improve in the terms of feminism, we can't deny the victory here. That's just one example. It's clear that we are able to fight for our rights and take them. Why would we think that it's impossible in todays world? The question must be "who wants us to think that way?" It's obvious that obeying and being an apolitical person brings us no benefit. And if it doesn’t serve us, then who does it serve? I feel kind of nauseous from the people who still believe in their fascist dictators and defend them. They aren't our friends, the working class should defend each others back instead of being a happy(!) modern slave of the rich and privileged. When you defend the super rich and believe in the lie of "If I work harder, I will be rich too", It's just obeying to your dictator.  

    Okay, time for the solution! I hear you saying "I don't want to obey but I don't know how to do it." LISTEN AND TAKE NOTES!

    First and foremost, acknowledge that we, as people are stronger than the tyrants. If you're having a hard time acknowledging it, remember that they're spending trillions of dollars just to make you shut up.

    Secondly there's a famous saying in lovely Turkish: It's "SOKAKTA FERAHLIK VAR, EYLEME GEL." It means that, go attend the protests that defend the rights of unprivileged. It's an human right to protest. 

    Then you should not be alone. You should defend your people's back and they should do the same for you. Everyone needs a community to feel seen, so in a world like that it's significant to have some people to trust. People are strong when they're together. You may consider attending some communities that you can defend human rights together. They are also good for your safety, you have people to protect you from unwanted situations. 

    Finally, we all need to educate ourselves. Knowledge brings courage. Our fight is not with tanks and TOMAs. It's with knowledge, kindness and empathy. 

    You have learned how to not obey. Try to be less obedient everyday. Huge love and thanks to those who don't obey.
